Fortec Signs Lucca Allen for the 2018 British F4 Championship

London, U.K. – Irish racing protégé Lucca Allen has joined Fortec Motorsport to contest the 2018 British Formula 4 Championship.

Having entered the final half of the British F4 season in 2017 following the turn of his fifteenth birthday, Allen will return to the UK this year as he continues to work his way up the ladder to Formula 1.

Allen is Ireland’s number one prospect of becoming a future F1 star and he is following in the footsteps of many of today’s F1 champions by competing in the junior single-seater categories in the UK.  Furthermore, his signing by Fortec Motorsport is a reflection of Allen’s readiness to race at the front of the grid. Past drivers of the British team include Juan Pablo Montoya, Stoffel Vandoorne and Charles Leclerc to name but a few.

Allen’s rise through karting from national to regional championships led to him winning the Irish race of champions’ trophy in 2015 and the National Irish Championship in 2014. His strong karting background has launched him into racing cars where Allen will proudly be driving under the Irish flag as the first Irish contender in the British F4.

Speaking about today’s announcement, Lucca Allen said:

“It’s a great honour to drive for one of the top teams in British F4. My tests with Fortec last year went really well and I am very grateful for them taking me on and for giving me this opportunity to drive in a car that is capable of taking the championship. I’m really excited for this season!”

Fortec’s F4 team manager Oliver Dutton added:

“We are very excited to have Lucca join the Fortec family and race in red, white and black livery for the 2018 [British F4] Championship. Lucca impressed during winter testing, showing us he had the pace and determination to fight at the front of the pack.

“Lucca absorbs all knowledge thrown at him and is able to translate it onto the track. I have great belief that Lucca will continue to improve and develop and I look forward to watching him have a successful campaign with us this year.”
