21 May Hill takes top 10 finish
18th May, Brands Hatch – The second race of the day saw Josh Hill once again take points towards his FIA Formula 3 European Championship title campaign, taking the chequered flag in eighth. Team-mate Felix Serralles suffered from bogging down at the start of the race resulting in crossing the line fifteenth, whilst Pipo Derani took eighteenth.
As the lights went out Hill had a great start from ninth, moving up a place to sit in eighth behind Harry Tincknell (Carlin). The pair soon settled in, with Hill chasing Tincknell and attempting to close the gap.
Hill was continuing to improve his sector times and it soon became obvious his confidence was growing as he closed in on Tincknell and the gap became just 0.3s. As both drivers pushed on, Hill made a challenge to overtake for seventh on lap 39, but with no room to overtake the challenge was short lived. He continued to look to make a move but with no room and heavy traffic the young racer maintained his eighth place position up until the chequered flag.
Behind, Serralles had fought his way back after dropping down the order when he bogged down off the start line and was now in fifteenth. Derani had also fought his way through the field from 21st on the starting grid to sit in eighteenth. Both stayed out of trouble and kept their positions up until the chequered flag.
