Josh Hill, Dan de Zille, and Jake Dennis – three quarters of Fortec’s Northern European squad – will travel to Spa-Francorchamps this weekend to take part in the Eurocup rounds of the World Series by Renault event at the revered Belgian track.
The British trio enjoyed a solid start to the NEC campaign, which began at the Hockenheimring in Germany at the end of April. Jake Dennis visited every step of the podium during the season-opener, leaving the German Grand Prix circuit as the championship leader, and with the next rounds scheduled for late-June, the NEC racers were eager to get out on track during their two-month break.
The entries granted to the Fortec men will allow them to gain valuable experience of the Belgian circuit – a favourite amongst drivers and fans alike – ahead of the NEC season finale at the track in October.
The NEC trio join Eurocup regulars Oliver Rowland, Nick Cassidy, Mikko Pakari, and Ed Jones for the second meeting of the World Series by Renault season. Oliver Rowland is the top Fortec man in the Eurocup standings; the 19-year-old currently lies sixth in the drivers’ standings with twelve points.
Qualifying for race one takes place at 0900 on Saturday, June 2, with the first race of the weekend due to start at 1245. Sunday’s qualifying session will start at 0900 with the second and final race of the weekend taking place at 1310*. Live timing will be available online throughout the weekend.
