Series information

Most GB4 cars are run by professional teams, but private entrants are also welcome. Great emphasis has been placed on minimising the cost of participating competitively. Costs are controlled by the following restrictions:

  • Sealed engines – may only be rebuilt by MSV’s highly experienced service provider Mountune
  • Controlled compound tyres for durability and consistency
  • Pirelli tyre supply is restricted to six new slick tyres per event
  • Standard pump fuel for testing. Race fuel provided by Sunoco with strict compliance controls
  • Two-way adjustable dampers, sealed and supplied by Oram

Car operation support

A dedicated teams area on the GB4 website will provide access to the latest technical documents, bulletins and updates.

Systems support

At every race event and championship test, MSV provides support engineers to ensure that the cars, the engines and all the electronic and mechanical systems are functioning correctly. Support will be available to drivers and teams to answer any questions or solve any problems.

On-board video

Every car features a front facing AIM Smartycam GP HD on-board video system with CAN data overlay.

Spares support

MSV has a comprehensive spare parts supply at its Bedford Autodrome HQ. MSV will also send a spares truck to each race and championship test, carrying an extensive range of mechanical parts and bodywork. Spare engines and gearboxes will also be available, as well as electronic components.

Tech Specs

The Tatuus F4-T014 is one of the most successful single-seater cars produced in recent decades, with well over 200 examples manufactured since 2014 and driven by current F1 stars Lando Norris, Lance Stroll and Mick Schumacher to launch their careers.

The car will run exactly as it has in Italian, ADAC and Spanish F4, meaning this is one of the most proven, reliable and equitable single-seaters available.

GB4’s F4-T014 utilises a carbon fibre Tatuus chassis and is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged Autotecnica Motori engine producing 160bhp. Engine parity will be optimised by existing GB3 partner Mountune. The chassis is FIA-homologated, allowing drivers as young as 15 to race them.

It features a six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift provided by Sadev, with Magneti Marelli electronics.

The F4-T014 is not only a superb race car, but an enormously safe one too, ideal for drivers from as young as 15 years of age to make their first steps on the single-seater racing ladder – no serious injuries have been recorded in more than 400 races and 140,000 racing laps. It features FIA-approved front and rear crash structures, wheel tethers, removable lateral head protection, roll hoop, a six-point safety harness, cockpit safety cell, carbon fibre extractable seat, and anti-intrusion panels.

Adjustable front and rear wings ensure set-up variation at all circuits, while Pirelli extend their support from GB3 to GB4, providing dry and wet tyres to the championship.

The braking system is provided by Brembo and features 2-piston calipers and ventilated discs.

Twin wishbone suspension with adjustable camber and toe on the front, and adjustable camber, toe, roll centre and anti-squat at the rear provide added scope for set-up changes. Oram provide adjustable bump and rebound dampers.
